February provided us with some more entertaining winter weather. We didn't take many walks and probably stayed inside a bit too much with the tea and biscuits. I continued to make quilt tops that were too big to quilt on my sewing machine, but I also made some smaller wall hangings that I enjoyed finishing on the Bernina. We had a nice visit from Pam and Bernard, and we got to know our neighbor, Marian, a bit better. She and several of her painting friends were interested in learning some patchwork, and she quickly put together an evening class at the local school. It was lovely to meet more ladies from the neighborhood and to get them started with some quilt blocks and techniques. They learned quickly, and made some terrific blocks.
My husband and I had made the decision to return to Oregon, and the quilters in Dunfanaghy wanted a last course before my departure. I taught a course on machine quilting and another one on patchwork in addition to the beginners' course on patchwork for the local ladies in Gweedore, organized by Marian. It kept me on the hop, but it was wonderful to see how the Gweedore ladies took to patchwork like ducks to water. They have arranged for Pauline to pick up where I left off, and three have already taken a workshop in Dunfanaghy. On their initial trip to the quilt shop they were buying stacks of fat quarters like seasoned quilters. The Quilting Bug bites again!

We started packing and making arrangements for our return, and made the (shocking !) discovery that we still have too many things. I even had a small sale of fabric, books and patterns, which was well attended by the guild ladies and the Gweedore ladies. They very kindly relieved me of quite a few items, but in the end it only makes one box less to be shipped. It seems that we're back at Square One with possession overload. What to do? It seems that quilting items are the bulk of our goods.
